Frequently Asked Questions
A: TRC accepts orders placed via our website, email or phone. To place an order, we require a purchase order, which includes a purchase order number (if applicable), shipping and billing addresses and method of shipment preferred. Credit card orders are also accepted.
A: We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.
A: Product availability information is provided on individual product pages. Although we make every effort to ensure a continuous supply of our products, occasional circumstances may force us to discontinue or temporarily run out of a product. If you note on our website, we list the Inventory Status for each product. These include:
- In Stock: At the minimum, the smallest package size is available for purchase.
- Pending QC: Product requires further quality control (QC) testing, additional one week.
- In Production: We are currently manufacturing this compound, please contact us for the lead-time.
- Please inquire: Product is not in stock, please contact us for the lead-time and any minimum order requirements.
If you require additional information on specific products, you may contact our Customer Service department at info.trc@lgcgroup.com
A: In most cases, we will respond within one business day with a confirmation of your order.
A: We do have a return policy, which is listed on the Terms and Conditions page.
A: You can set up an account by placing a website order and completing the associated fields. You may also contact us by email with information about your company/organization such as website, company size, company history, etc.
A: empirechemstore is unable to offer such compounds to individuals at residential addresses.
A: Until recently, most products have been assigned a purity that is estimated based on 1H NMR, TLC and Elemental Analysis (+/- 2%). Our purities are given on a dry basis and do not include trace water or solvent. For purity of an individual product please consult the batch-specific certificate of analysis (CofA). This being said, some products are not suitable for HPLC testing.
A: Our purities are not considered quantitative. For customers who wish to know the potency of our products, additional testing can be ordered, i.e. TGA, Karl Fischer, which will allow the customer to calculate the potency value. empirechemstore does not list potency on product Certificate of Analysis (COfA).
A: empirechemstore does not perform LOD. If HNMR observes significant residual solvents, the calculated percentages will be listed on the COfA. Water content is based on Karl Fischer.
A:empirechemstore is currently not certified by any external regulatory authority (ISO, GMP/GLP, FDA or otherwise) and/or independent third parties. However, our subsidiary, Synfine Research Ltd., is routinely inspected and is ISO 9001 certified. If requested, empirechemstore can provide ISO certified products through our subsidiary, Synfine Research Ltd.
A: All of our products are provided with the highest level of spectral documentation. But, since empirechemstore has not yet achieved any ISO certifications or GMP/GLP manufacturing, we cannot claim that our products are certified reference standards. Our products are not qualified against any primary standards. We use NMR, Mass Spectrometry and Elemental Analysis to confirm identity. Product purity is based on HPLC or NMR, TLC, and Elemental Analysis.
A: empirechemstore products are manufactured for research purposes only. Our products are not intended for human or animal use.
A: Currently we do not perform stability testing on our products. Retest dates are assigned to products based on what is known from the literature and from our chemists’ experience/observations while working with the product during synthesis and analysis. Retest dates of 1, 4, 7, and 10 years are given to products accordingly. Our most sensitive products have a retest date of 1 year and will be tested by 1H NMR prior to shipping. Products that have longer approval periods are less sensitive and more stable. All products that are expected to be sold are tested 1 year before their retest date, with the exception of sensitive materials, which have 1 year retest dates and are tested 6 months prior to expiry.
A: Products which have a long term recommended storage temperature of 2 to 8°C and -10 to -20°C are normally shipped at ambient temperature as they are stable at room temperature for short periods of time (approx. 2 weeks of transportation), unless otherwise specified. This is based on what our chemists observe while working with these products. Lower temperatures are typically assigned for long-term storage in order to maximize shelf life. Products that are unstable and/or have a recommended storage temperature of -86°C are shipped on dry ice in order to preserve product quality.
A: These are the recommended storage temperature ranges:
- Refrigerator: 0 – 8°C
- -20°C Freezer: -25 to -10°C
- -86°C: -86 to -70°C
A: The chemical purity of technical grade products is estimated to be between 35 to 70%. Reasons why a product may be assigned technical grade include: lack of stability, purity unquantifiable based on the analysis performed, or difficult purification process.
A: We do not carry out extensive solubility testing on our products. Typically, we will test the solubility of a product in 2 to 3 solvents, however we do not determine solubility limits.
A: For normal packages, we weigh out a surplus of product that could contain 10% or more excess material, e.g. for a 1mg order you can expect approx. 1.1 to 1.2mg of product. This is so that sufficient material will be provided with your order. If an order includes our exact weight service, we will still provide a slight surplus of material, however we will weigh your order on a microbalance and provide you with the exact quantity received up to 3 decimal places.
